Well I've finally finished my review of The Disney Channel over the past 20 or so years. That is to say...I'm reviewing 20 years of the Disney Channel, not that it took me 20 years to write the review. I couldn't even write 20 years ago...why would you think that? Oh dear, now I've just made a mess of things. Just click below to check it out...I'm gonna go work on my rhetoric...

A big thanks to listener Erin or sharing her Chaplin and Amelie sightseeing! Click the thumbnail to look through her photos of pieces of cinematic history!

"Since Charlie Chaplin lived the last 25 years of his life in Vevey, Switzerland - and because the train to London was hella expensive! - I decided to go to Switzerland for a few days. While there, I visited the statue dedicated to Chaplin, his and his wife's graves, and also the mansion that his family still lives in. The mansion is on a vast piece of wooded land, and unfortunately you can't go inside the property without being shot, but you can get a small glimpse of the house from the road (it's not worth a photo, though). The Cinema Rex (see photo) is where Chaplin would watch movies. He lived in a gorgeous place...Vevey is on Lake Geneva, with great views of the Alps!

Then, back in Paris, I did some 'Amelie' sightseeing in Montmartre, Paris! Sidenote: I think the French are not as impressed with the movie as people from the states are, but they and many other people of the world love American television (e.g. Big Bang Theory). I went to the cafe where Amelie worked. My friend and I sat in the spot where Amelie stood when she was writing the menu on the glass while trying not to be seen by the guy she liked. It's funny how when you watch some movies, you have to imagine what the rest of the setting looks like because you never see it. The streets around the cafe and the market from the movie are not exactly what I imagined them to look like, but nevertheless, they are very lovely streets in a very neat area of Paris."
